Welcome to Snackler.
The Snackler database contains observations about who is eating what snacks.
The database contains reference information about each of the known snacks and their known properties. It also contains information about each of the snack consumers (Eaters) and their properties. Information about the people watching the snacking is also maintained.
Each time a snack is consumed, it is know as a Snackler observation event. Snackler observation events are grouped into Empty Calorie snacking events, Special Interest snacking events, and Drinking events.
Empty Calorie snacking events record the consumption of basic junk such as Potato Chips, Pretzels, SunChips, and Donuts.
Special Interest events record the consumption of birthday cakes, peanuts, carrots and celery. Special Interest events contain additional data, such as the amount of noise made during consumption.
Drinking events (also called Automatic Ingestion events) include the consumption of liquids such as Bubba Cola, Tubz Root Beer, and Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. Drinks have substantially different properties than other snacks.
Each event contains information about who ate what type of snack. Each snacking event contains a data and time that it was observed, who ate it, what was eaten, where it was consumed, and details such as the calories consumed, fat, vitamins, color, texture, how fast it was eaten, and how much noise was made while eaten. Snackler can track up to 80 properties of each snacking event. .
The Snackler database is constantly updated with new events by a set of "tattle-tale" software. This software takes snacking reports and stores the events.
